Odishan Plateau
Odishan_Plateau prominently comprises of the Garhjat hills in Odisha. It determines
the extent from southern border of the Ranchi_Plateau to almost the #Mahandi
in the south.
The range, also known as the Odisha_Highlands, runs in a north east to south west direction for about
382 km along the Odisha_Coast.
Rajmahal-Garo Gap
The Shillong_Plateau is the eastern extension of Eastern plateau. It is
also called the Meghalaya_Plateau. The gap between the Rajmahal_Hills and the Garo_Hills is known as the Rajmahal_Garo_Gap.
The #gap was formed due to downfaulting. The downfaulted portion is
covered under thick #deposits_of_alluvium brought by the Ganga_River and the Brahmaputra_River.
